Dataphyte Foundation Concludes Masterclass on Peace Communication and Resilience Building
The Dataphyte Foundation has successfully concluded a two-day Masterclass on Peace Communication and Resilience Building, targeting grassroots media practitioners and stakeholders.
Held at Lake Greenfield Hotel in Kado, Abuja, the event aimed to enhance the capacity of journalists and community media professionals to promote peace and stability in Nigeria.
Expert sessions covered conflict-sensitive reporting, responsible digital media use, and storytelling for peacebuilding.
Participants engaged in interactive exercises and scenario analyses, gaining practical skills to improve their reporting and contribute to community cohesion.
Keynote speakers emphasized the importance of peace communication in Nigeria’s current landscape. Joshua Olufemi, CEO of Dataphyte, highlighted the organization’s mission to promote access to information for socio-economic development.
Adijat Kareem, the facilitator, stressed that peace communication is crucial in combating misinformation and divisive narratives.
The Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission, Charles Ebuebu, praised Dataphyte for empowering grassroots media, noting that peacebuilding begins at the local level. Participants described the training as timely and transformative, appreciating the opportunity to upgrade their skills.
