Delta State HOSTCOM Passes Vote of Confidence on Comrade Andrew Agoyo as the Authentic Chairman of Urhobo HOSTCOM
** Dismiss Pender Agwarive as a black horse in Urhobo HOSTCOM

By Wilson Macaulay

The leadership of Delta State Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), led by Senior Comrade Enujeke Ndidi Sunday (Chairman) and High Comrade Joseph Lamienghan (Secretary), has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Comrade Andrew Agoyo as the legitimate Chairman of Urhobo Ethnic Nationality HOSTCOM.

This declaration comes in response to what the leadership describes as a misleading and unconstitutional attempt by certain individuals to usurp the established leadership structure in Urhobo HOSTCOM.

The Delta State HOSTCOM
maintained that Comrade Andrew Agoyo remains the only duly elected Chairman, and any purported removal attempts are null and void, as they violated both the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution and the HOSTCOM Constitution as amended in 2018.

The leadership strongly condemned the actions of a faction, allegedly led by Comrade Pender Agwarive and others, accusing them of breaching due process by acting as complainants, prosecutors, and judges without allowing the accused officers their right to a fair hearing. HOSTCOM emphasized in Press release that the proper mechanism for conflict resolution, as outlined in Article 5, Subsection 5:4 of its constitution, was not followed.

Furthermore, the Delta State HOSTCOM leadership expressed concern over threats allegedly made by some members of the opposing faction, urging the Delta State Commissioner of Police, the DSS, and other security agencies to take necessary action to prevent the breakdown of law and order.

Reaffirming its loyalty to the government of Delta State under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, HOSTCOM stated that its primary focus remains the advancement of the M.O.R.E. Agenda and the equitable management of resources for the benefit of oil-bearing communities.

“We assure the public that HOSTCOM remains committed to due process, peace, and the collective interest of host communities. ”

In summation , they said: ” Any attempt to undermine the authentic leadership of Comrade Andrew Agoyo as the Chairman of Urhobo HOSTCOM will not stand,” the statement concluded.”
