DEMOCRACY DAY: BAUCHI STATE SPEAKER URGES LEADERS TO PRIORITIZE IMPACTS ON PEOPLE

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Dangaladiman Ningi, Barden Kudun Katagum) has urged leaders at all levels to give priority on what will install succor to the lives of people. The Speaker made the plea today as Nigeria marks Democracy Day which signifies 26 years of uninterrupted democratic rule, a system of government that allows citizens to vote leaders and enjoy numerous fundamental human rights as well as other privileges.

The law maker asserted that as leaders, fulfilling promises to the people would give them not just more tenures but build unshakable trust, mutual understandings and sense of belonging to hands that lifted them. As the economy is piercing deeper, leaders should reaffirm services to humanity through poverty eradication, employment opportunities and erecting legacies that would stand for decades. Bauchi is lucky to have experienced leaders that touch lives not in discussions but in actions.

“The transformative style of the Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir (Kauran Bauchi) left no stone untouched as he always sets pace for others to follow. The Governor was able to build and upgrade health centers, constructed and renovated schools, linked electricity and water, provided farming inputs while carrying youth along through employment and skills acquisition. These and more portrayed his unwavering zeal of serving people and making Bauchi State as the hub of economic, social and technological advancements”. The Speaker said

In summary, the Bauchi State House of Assembly is therefore committed toward collaboration and working with Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Non-profit organizations with the aim of putting an indelible end to challenges that are hindering developments. The House is also ready to support efforts toward security and promotion of national unity. Lastly, the Speaker, Honorable Members and staff of the Assembly are therefore wishing Nigerians more democratic years of fruitful leadership, social amenities and harnessing potentials for the betterment of all. Happy Democracy Day !!

Signed:
Mukhtar Garba Kobi
Spokesperson of the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly.
