Don’t be deceived, no individual or political structure can win Gov. Ododo’s political family in Kogi state.
At this crucial point in our political journey, especially as we look ahead to 2027 and beyond, I consider it necessary to speak frankly to all political stakeholders, particularly in Kogi West and Kogi State at large.
The ideal move for every person genuinely interested in the progress of our party and the political development of our state is to sue for peace, promote unity and strengthen our collective political family.
There is no alternative to peace. However, anyone genuinely calling for peace must also be careful not to engage in actions, utterances or political activities capable of recalibrating, escalating or unnecessarily heightening tension within our political space. This is particularly important in Kogi West, where our peculiar political history and sensitivities demand maturity, restraint, dialogue and responsible leadership.
Let me make this clear: His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is the Governor of Kogi State and the political leader of the state. By virtue of his office and responsibility, he has the prerogative to intervene, mediate and provide leadership whenever the need arises, in any region and at any point in time, in the overall interest of the state and our great party.
Such interventions should not be interpreted through the narrow lens of personal interests. The Governor’s responsibility is to protect the cohesion of the party, promote stability and ensure that the political architecture of Kogi State remains strong and capable of delivering continued progress.
Governor Ododo’s administration has demonstrated commitment to the development and security of Kogi State. His administration has continued to prioritize infrastructure, security, human capital development and policies aimed at improving the welfare of the people. His commitment to consolidating the gains of the New Direction administration and advancing the Renewed Hope vision in Kogi State deserves the collective support of all well-meaning stakeholders.
As Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, my allegiance and total loyalty remain firmly with the good people of Kabba/Bunu and with the legitimate interests, programmes and agenda of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. We are 100 percent for the Governor and his interests in the development and political advancement of Kogi State.
This position is not about hostility towards anyone. It is about clarity of direction, loyalty to leadership and commitment to the collective interest of our people.
I therefore urge the general public, our party members and political stakeholders not to be deceived by the assumption that any individual, group or political arrangement can single-handedly subdue or defeat the political family and structure of Governor Ododo in Kogi State.
No individual can win against a united political structure built around a sitting Governor who enjoys the support of his people and the commitment of a broad network of stakeholders.
But let me equally emphasize that strength must not be mistaken for a desire for confrontation. Our objective is not to divide Kogi APC. Our objective is to unite all parties, all blocs and all interests within the APC family, particularly ahead of the 2027 elections and beyond.
We need peace, we need synergy, we need collaboration, we need robust internal support for our party.
We need dialogue instead of unnecessary confrontation, understanding instead of suspicion, and collective interest above individual ambition.
Nobody loses when peace prevails. Nobody loses when our party remains united. And nobody loses when political disagreements are resolved through dialogue and responsible engagement.
Therefore, to everyone who genuinely desires peace, let us work together to achieve it. But anyone who believes that the path to political relevance is through actions that undermine unity, escalate tension or attempt to destabilize the existing political structure should continue on that path if they so choose. They should, however, also be prepared to be disappointed.
The people of Kogi State deserve peace, stability and purposeful leadership. The APC deserves unity. Kogi West deserves a politics of inclusion, maturity and strategic cooperation.
As we approach 2027 and look beyond it, our message remains simple: Let us unite. Let us collaborate. Let us strengthen our party. Let us support our Governor. Let us put Kogi State first. There is no alternative to peace.
