Easter Message of Hope: Bishop Anyanwu Urges Christians to Embrace Sacrifice, Love, and Peace

By Ahiaba Douglas

The Presiding Bishop of Sound Zeal Prayer Ministry, Bishop Solomon Anyanwu, has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to Christians across the globe, calling on them to reflect deeply on the true meaning of the season.

In a message he personally signed and made available to our correspondent, Bishop Anyanwu described Easter as “a sacred celebration that lies at the very heart of the Christian faith.” He explained that the season commemorates the death, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ—events he said define the foundation of Christianity.

“Easter is not just a celebration; it is a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice and the victory of life over death,” he said. “The resurrection of Christ remains the greatest proof of His divinity and a source of hope for all believers.”

The cleric urged Christians to emulate the virtues exemplified by Jesus Christ, particularly obedience, selflessness, and love for humanity.

“Christ demonstrated uncommon love by accepting pain, humiliation, and death on the cross for the sake of mankind,” Bishop Anyanwu stated. “As followers of Christ, we must live sacrificial lives, putting others before ourselves and promoting peace wherever we find ourselves.”

Addressing the state of the nation, the bishop called on Nigerians to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence, especially during the Easter period.

“It is disheartening that while we celebrate a season of love and sacrifice, innocent lives are being lost,” he lamented. “The killings in Plateau State on Palm Sunday are acts of cruelty, cowardice, and barbarity that must be condemned by all.”

He further urged the federal government to take decisive action in bringing perpetrators of such violence to justice.

“I call on the government to ensure that those behind these heinous crimes are swiftly apprehended and made to face the full weight of the law,” he added.

Bishop Anyanwu concluded by encouraging Christians to let the message of Easter inspire a renewed commitment to faith, love, and national unity
