Eid-el-Kabir: Kogi Assembly Speaker felicitates Gov. Bello, sues for peaceful coexistence, love, unity among citizens
The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has felicitated the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and his cabinet members, while also extending his best wishes to members of the State legislature on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Rt. Hon Yusuf enjoined the people of the state to embrace peaceful coexistence, love and unity, describing them as panacea to socioeconomic development of the state.
The speaker stated this in a Sallah message which signed by his head of Media and Publicity, Yabagi Mohammed and made available to journalists.
According to the statement, Kogi State has recorded remarkable progress under Governor Bello, who has continued to be a pace setter in redesigning the state’s landscape and ensuring further progress of the state in all sectors, and prayed Almighty Allah to grant him good health and soundness of mind to continue to pilot the progress of the state.
The Speaker noted that Eid-el-Kabir reminds humanity of the remarkable story of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering devotion and obedience to Allah, while also teaching the value of selflessness and the importance of sharing the blessings the Almighty God has bestowed of people with those less fortunate.
“This day serves as a beautiful reminder that our actions and choices can have a profound impact on the lives of others, inspiring humanity to embrace empathy and extend a helping hand to those in need. Let us reflect upon the essence of Eid-el-Kabir and its underlying teachings,” the statement partly reads.
Rt. Hon Yusuf used the opportunity to tell citizens of Kogi State that the celebration is a time to appreciate the abundance in their lives and express gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon them by strengthening the bonds of family, friendship, and community as they gather to share joyous feasts, exchange greetings, and engage in acts of charity.
“In the spirit of the Eid, let us reach out to our neighbors, regardless of their background or beliefs, and offer a hand of friendship. Let us remember those who are facing hardship, and lend our support in any way we can. Through acts of kindness and generosity, we can truly embody the values that Eid-el-Adha represents,” the statement further reads.
“To our Muslim brothers and sisters, I extend my sincerest wishes for a blessed and joyous celebration. May your prayers and acts of devotion be accepted, and may this celebration bring you peace, happiness, and spiritual fulfillment. May the spirit of Eid inspire us all to foster harmony, understanding, and love among one another.
