Empowerment and Excellence: TIWA’N’ TIWA Women Vanguard Endorses Hon. Arc. Salman Idris for Continued Service
In a vibrant display of grassroots solidarity, the TIWA’N’ TIWA Women Vanguard has officially declared its unwavering support for Hon. Arc. Salman Idris, the Member representing the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The endorsement, which took place during a stakeholders’ summit in Kabba, was not merely a political gesture but a heartfelt “thank you” for a tenure defined by tangible impact, architectural precision in governance, and an unapologetic focus on women’s welfare.
Since assuming office in the 10th National Assembly, Arc, Salman Idris has transitioned from designing structures to building lives. The TIWA’N’ TIWA Women Vanguard—a socio-political group known for its “Our Own for Our Own” philosophy—highlighted several key pillars of his performance:
Educational Revitalization: From providing scholarships to renovating dilapidated classroom blocks across Ijumu and Kabba-Bunu, his “Education First” initiative has alleviated the burden for thousands of parents.
Empowerment of the Vulnerable: In late 2024 and early 2025, Hon. Salman famously distributed empowerment items to over 6,000 constituents, ranging from agricultural inputs to tools for small-scale entrepreneurs.
Healthcare Interventions: His constituency outreaches have provided free medical screenings and surgical interventions, particularly targeting maternal health—a feat that resonated deeply with the Women Vanguard.
“Hon. Salman Idris has shown that representation is not about the seat you occupy, but the lives you touch from that seat. He has been a ‘vanguard’ for our children’s future.” — Excerpt from the Vanguard’s Official Communiqué.
The core theme of the endorsement was consolidation. The TIWA’N’ TIWA Women Vanguard argued that the progress made in the last two years plus is too significant to be interrupted. They voiced a collective “Quest for Continuity,” urging the lawmaker to maintain his trajectory of grassroots-oriented legislation.
Key areas the group identified for future focus include:
Water Scarcity: Expanding the solar-powered borehole projects to more rural communities.
Market Infrastructure: Leveraging his architectural background to redesign local markets for better sanitation and security.
Vocational Training: Creating a dedicated hub for women and youths to learn high-demand tech and artisanal skills.
The endorsement comes at a strategic time, as Hon. Salman Idris’s political alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC) has consolidated his influence within the state and national machinery. The Women’s Vanguard noted that this move has positioned the constituency to “tap directly into the Renewed Hope agenda” of the federal government.
The event concluded with a symbolic pledge by the women to mobilize across the 30 wards of the constituency to ensure that his vision for a greater Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu remains on track.
