Establishment of Kogi State University, Kabba, a step in the right direction – Ajigi
A chieftain of the main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kabba/Bunu local government area of Kogi state, a water Engineer, Matthew Ajigi has described the establishment of the Kogi State University sited in his community Gbeleko Aginmi, Kabba metropolis, headquarters of Okun nation by the Kogi State Government as a step in the right direction, noting that it is long overdue for the ancient city to host such an institution.
He disclosed this in a telephone chat with one of our reporters. According to him, it is mind-blowing for the laudable initiative to create more opportunities for the upcoming generations in Okunland to have easy access to university education without traveling long distances before getting it.
He said the recognition of the establishment of the institution by the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC) to operate as the number 62 state owned University in Nigeria will go a long way to reshape the economic status of the area as the project will stimulate inflow of resources that will grant meaningful livelihood for the people.
