Evang Mrs Dortie calls on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State to partner with skill acquisition Centres to Boost His MORE Agenda

By Wilson Macaulay

Ughelli—Delta Central headquarters was once again agog with spiritual fire, humanitarian passion and developmental advocacy as The King’s Ministry International, in collaboration with the Royal Charity for Widows and Orphans Initiative, made a powerful call on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to strategically partner with Skill Acquisition Centres across the state to empower widows and orphans and reposition them as productive contributors to boost the MORE Agenda.

The call was made by the Founder and Chairperson, Evang. Mrs. Elizabeth O. Dortie, during the Ministry’s Annual Thanksgiving and Widows’ Christmas Shower 2025, themed “Celebrating the Divine Mandate”, held at the King’s Sanctuary Hall, No. 38 Egborode Street, Ekuigbo, Ughelli — a location spiritually christened “Jerusalem.” the blessed land.

Addressing the gathering during the Programme, Evang. Mrs.Elizabeth Dortie stressed that widows and orphans remain among the most downtrodden and neglected groups in society, yet they possess untapped potential that can be unlocked through structured training, capacity building and vocational empowerment.

“We decided to invest in skill acquisition and entrepreneurship training so that widows and orphans can become assets to themselves and to the nation rather than liabilities to society,” she declared.
According to her, the programme is deliberately designed to discourage crime, poverty-driven desperation and social dependency, while promoting dignity, productivity and self-reliance.
While further commending Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, describing it as visionary and people-centered, Evang Mrs Elizabeth Dortie urged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State to partner with the Royal Charity for Widows and Orphans Initiative in Ekuigbo Ughelli to expand the reach and impact of its empowerment programmes across Delta State and beyond.

Thanksgiving Speech

In her emotional welcome address and testimony of God’s faithfulness, Evang. Mrs. Dortie announced that Tuesday, December 23, 2025, was specially set aside to thank God for His benevolence upon her Ministry and the Humanitarian initiative from its inception in Lagos to its flourishing expansion in Ughelli.
She expressed deep appreciation to the Spiritual Father of the Day, Bishop Kingsley Enakirheri,,
the Special Guest of Honour, HRM Dr. Andi Osawota, Adakaji I, the Ovie of Orogun Kingdom, the Guest Speaker, Bishop Christopher Livingstone Okonul, as well as strategic partners including the NDLEA, Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs, UNICEF, NAPEP, Ughelli North and South LGAs, the Board of The King’s Ministry International, the Planning Committee and numerous individuals whose support has sustained the vision.

Royal Endorsement and Generous Support

In his goodwill message, HRM Dr. Andi Osawota praised Evang. Mrs. Dortie as “a great woman of faith and a willing vessel in God’s hands.”
He prayed for continuous anointing upon her life and Ministry and made a generous donation in support of the ongoing Skill Acquisition Centre, which is already training widows and orphans in various vocational trades and entrepreneurial disciplines.

SERMON

Delivering the sermon titled “The Covenant of the Favour of God,” Bishop Christopher Livingstone Okonul anchored his message on Psalm 1:1–3 and Luke 1:28, teaching that God remains the ultimate source of all success and existence.
He illustrated his message with the analogy of the palm tree, explaining that just as the palm thrives only when deeply rooted in the soil, humanity thrives only when firmly rooted in God.
“God can exist without man, but man cannot exist without God,” he emphasized.
The bishop affirmed that the extraordinary growth of The King’s Ministry International and the Royal Charity for Widows and Orphans is evidence of a divine foundation, noting that love remains the core pillar of Evang. Mrs. Dortie’s mission.

A Call to Collective Responsibility

He concluded by urging all present to support and “water” the noble work, stressing that empowering widows and orphans is not merely charity but a strategic investment in national stability and prosperity.
As the event climaxed with prayers, thanksgiving and renewed commitment, the message resonated clearly: When compassion meets capacity building, society is transformed, and fellers indicate that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will respond to the divine call with whispers of love.
