FCT State Minister Launches Committee to Protect Vulnerable Children

TOYIN ADEBAYO, ABUJA

In a bid to safeguard at-risk children in the nation’s capital, FCT Minister of State Dr. Mariya Mahmoud has inaugurated the FCT At-Risk Children Implementation Committee.

This initiative aims to provide essential services, protection, and opportunities for education and social development to vulnerable children.

Mahmoud emphasized the importance of supporting these children, urging the committee to develop comprehensive strategies and effective solutions.

She expressed confidence in the committee members’ dedication to this critical mission.

Committee Chairperson Hajia Adamu Maijidda Kuku highlighted the project’s goal of creating a safe, nurturing environment for all children in the FCT.

The committee’s terms include collaboration with local councils, conducting baseline surveys, and forming sustainable, self-funding plans.

Members of the Committee include Hajia Adamu Maijidda Kuku, who will serve as the chairperson, Hon. Simon Helen Zamani, Hafsat Mahmud, and Kalu A. Ifeanyi.

Others include Chinyere Maduka, Solomon Abenu, Hussain M. Makari, Babayola Abdulrahaman, Rotimi Ojo, Elizabeth O. Aliu, and Suleiman Abubakar Ndabagi
