Former Aviation Director, Chief Tai Hassan Ejibunu, Joins APC in Kabba

A respected technocrat and community leader, Chief Tai Hassan Ejibunu, former Director of Air Transport Management at the Federal Ministry of Aviation and the Obatebise of Oweland, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Chief Ejibunu was officially welcomed into the party in a ceremony held at his political ward, Asuta, where he was presented with his APC membership card by the ward chairman, Hon. Oshadare Kolade.
The Kabba-Bunu APC Party Chairman, Hon. Jembawondo Solomon, delivered a special address, describing the move as a positive signal to the people of the local government that leadership is rooted in experience and service is coming closer to the grassroots.
The event featured goodwill messages and encouraging speeches from other political leaders and dignitaries. Hon. Segun Ogbonikan, former Chairman of Kabba-Bunu LGA, described Chief Ejibunu’s entry into politics as a major boost for value-based leadership in the local government.
While Alhaji Zakar Ejibunu, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Kogi State, commended the decision, stating that the APC in the area stands to benefit from Chief Ejibunu’s administrative and professional experience.
Hon. Barrister Boluromi Emmanuel also praised the development, describing it as a step towards people-centered governance that blends experience with community engagement.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Tai Hassan Ejibunu made it clear that his entry into politics is not driven by ambition to contest elections, but by a sincere desire to contribute to the development of his community and the nation at large.
He emphasized that political engagement should go beyond seeking office and focus on solving problems, supporting development, and building strong institutions that reflect the people’s needs.
The event was well attended by party officials and community leaders, including Hon. Joseph Segun Ade (Leo), Councilor representing Asuta Ward; Hon. (Barr) Segun Dare, Immediate Past Councilor of Asuta Ward; and Hon. Olorunmaye Charles, APC Party Secretary, Kabba/Bunu LGA.
Their presence underscored the significance of Chief Ejibunu’s registration and the collective support he enjoys within the APC structure.
Chief Ejibunu’s entrance into active politics is seen by many as a welcome shift toward professionalism, accountability, and development-focused governance. As a retired senior civil servant with national experience, his contributions are expected to influence policymaking and capacity-building initiatives across Kabba-Bunu and Kogi West.
