Ganduje Condoles with Senator Basiru Over Mother’s Death at 92

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has extended his heartfelt condolence to the National Secretary of the APC, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, over the passing of his beloved mother, Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, who died at the age of 92.
In a condolence message personally signed by him, Dr. Ganduje described the death of the revered matriarch as a profound loss, not only to the Basiru family but also to all who were privileged to know her as a woman of remarkable character, deep faith, and unwavering commitment to family and society.
The former APC National Chairman conveyed his sympathies to Senator Basiru, members of the immediate and extended Basiru family, friends, associates, and the people of Osun State, praying that Almighty Allah grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
Dr. Ganduje paid glowing tribute to the late Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, describing her as a devout Muslim whose life embodied humility, compassion, discipline, and selfless service. According to him, she dedicated her life to the worship of Almighty Allah, the nurturing of her children, and the promotion of moral values that continue to inspire those around her.
He noted that the deceased lived a fulfilled and exemplary life, leaving behind an enduring legacy of integrity, wisdom, religious devotion, and outstanding family values. He added that the remarkable accomplishments and distinguished public service of her children—particularly Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru—stand as a testament to the sound upbringing, guidance, and principles she instilled in them from an early age.
“Alhaja Sidikat Basiru’s life was a shining example of faith, sacrifice, patience, and dedication to family. Her wisdom, prayers, kindness, and motherly love will remain a lasting source of inspiration and comfort to everyone whose lives she touched,” Ganduje stated.
He further urged Senator Basiru and the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that the late matriarch lived a long, impactful, and honourable life, positively influencing countless individuals through her generosity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to humanity.
The former Kano State governor also observed that while death is an inevitable reality, the true measure of a person’s life lies in the positive legacy they leave behind. He said Alhaja Sidikat Basiru’s legacy of righteousness, dignity, and service would continue to resonate across generations.
Dr. Ganduje prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives her shortcomings, accepts her good deeds and lifelong acts of worship, grants her eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and comforts the entire Basiru family during this period of mourning.
The passing of Alhaja Sidikat Basiru has attracted condolences from political leaders, associates, friends, and well-wishers across the country, many of whom have described her as a virtuous woman whose life reflected the finest values of motherhood, faith, and community service.
Her death marks the end of a remarkable earthly journey spanning over nine decades, but her enduring legacy of piety, compassion, and exemplary motherhood will continue to inspire generations to come.
