Hon Abubakar Umar Abdullahi Emerges Best Performing Executive Chairman in the FCT

The Executive Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Hon Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, has emerged as the Best Performing Executive Chairman in the FCT for 2026.

The award recognises Hon Abdullahi’s outstanding performance in grassroots governance, infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and service delivery across the FCT.
In a statement by the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Chief Olugbemi Femi,, the newspaper said the selection followed a six-month independent assessment of leadership impact, project execution, transparency, and citizen engagement by the six Area Councils in the FCT.
“Hon Abubakar Umar Abdullahi distinguished himself through visible projects, prudent management of resources, and a people-centered approach to governance. His administration has set a benchmark for what effective leadership at the grassroots should look like,” Chief Femi stated.
The award will be formally presented to him on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 during the Newspaper’s 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame with the Theme: “Economic Reform and Sustainable Development in a Democracy, the Nigeria Experience” scheduled to hold at 5:00pm at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
The annual event celebrates Nigerians who have demonstrated excellence, integrity, and commitment to good governance in public service.
