IWD; How DBN is Activating Women Empowerment, Emancipation, Recognition in Nigeria ,

The Development Bank of Nigeria, DBN since it’s inception has continued to host the World International Women’s Day , IWD to celebrate women of distinction , recognition, and also empowered the vulnerable ones which has led to a thriving businesses and economy in recent times, particularly the accelerated growth of the country’s Gross Domestic Product,GDP.
The 2026 program will not be an exception either through celebration of the annual program or availement to women in Nigeria, under the leadership of Dr Tony Okpanachi, the Managing Director, Development Bank of Nigeria, DBN.
Through this encouragement and awareness, the Bank through its MSME’s program disbursed a whopping 272 Billon to women entrepreneurs to promote self sustenance, self reliant and placed them as an enterprising entities.
Aside empowerment and availement, training and retraining, capacity building and workshop attracting large numbers with focus on gender equality and gender pariy in line with the global standards and expectations.
This is different from trillions of naira been disbursed on a yearly basis with high priority to women in the country by the Bank.
Since the saying of ’empowering women , is tantamount to empowering an entire household and the world’ , the idea of women development cannot be overemphasized.
With emphasis on annual empwerement, recognition at all levels , no doubt the country is benefiting from this trend of activities introduced by the DBN which has led to the emancipation of many women folk in the country.
Aside it’s “Embracingequity, Breaking the bias and Acceleratingequity” introduced by DBN which promotes inclusivity and challenging gender inequality and stereotypes.
This is along with celebrating the resilience of women towards national development and women emancipation,which emphasized the need for empowering women.
Development Bank of Nigeria, DBN in partnerships also facilitated capacity building aside seed funding for women entrepreneurs in the country.
Having attained credible achievements in the area of women development, the Bank under the management of Dr Tony Okpanachi will take the activities of women emancipation to the highest level in Nigeria.
