GOVERNOR BAGO RECEIVES 100 RESCUED PAPIRI SCHOOL CHILDREN
Minna, Niger State – Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has received 100 schoolchildren rescued from captivity, a significant breakthrough in the state’s efforts to address insecurity.
The children, kidnapped from St. Mary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area, were handed over to the Governor, who expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, security agencies, and development partners like UNICEF for their support.
“We want to thank Mr. President for giving us all the necessary support to rescue these children,” Governor Bago said. He assured parents and guardians that the rescued children would be medically examined before being reunited with them.
The Governor also appealed for continued prayers, expressing hope that the remaining students would be recovered soon. “We hope to recover the remaining students who are still in captivity, and by the grace of God, in a very short time from now, we are going to recover them, In sha Allah,” he said.
The Governor thanked the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for their support and assured that the state would work closely with them to ensure the safe return of the children to their families.

“I want to reassure the parents and guardians of these children that they will be safely reunited with them very soon. We have invited medical and health workers to thoroughly examine them before they are returned to their parents. We are working closely with CAN to ensure they are safely taken back home.”
