Kogi Accountant General Commends Bassa People for Support, Endorses Ododo/Tinubu in 2027

The Accountant General of Kogi State, Hajiya Dr. Habibat Tinjani Onumoko, has commended the people of Bassa Local Government Area for their overwhelming support in electing Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo during the 2023 governorship election.

Onumoko, who paid a thank-you visit to the people of Bassa, said their massive votes were instrumental to the victory of Governor Ododo, assuring them that their loyalty and sacrifices will not be taken for granted.

“The support of Bassa people is priceless. Governor Ododo values it, and I can assure you that his administration is determined to ensure that dividends of democracy reach every community. Already, his government has brought relief to many Kogites, and the impact of development is being felt across the grassroots,” she stated.

She further pledged her continuous support to the Governor’s policies and programs, adding that Bassa people remain a vital part of Kogi’s political strength.

In his remarks, Hon. Alhassan Salisu Adakeke, Secretary of the Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), praised Dr. Onumoko for her outstanding leadership and mentorship, describing her as “a pillar of support for both the government and the people.”

He also lauded the contributions of former Governor Yahaya Bello and Governor Ahmed Ododo, urging the present administration to prioritize two major projects: the rehabilitation of the Shintaku–Omala road and the resettlement of displaced persons in the area.

“Bassa people have always stood firm with progressive leadership. We are confident that Governor Ododo will not disappoint. That is why we are declaring, here and now, a vote of confidence in his administration and in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Adakeke said.

He emphasized that the people of Bassa are resolute in their support: *“Come 2027, by the special grace of God, Bassa will deliver 100% votes for Tinubu and Ododo.”

Local government leaders and party stakeholders who attended the event also reiterated their commitment to sustaining the political partnership with the state government, stressing that loyalty to the administration is in the best interest of the community.

One of the elders, Mallam Yakubu, added: “We believe in this government because we can already see changes at the grassroots. With more focus on our roads and resettlement of our displaced people, Ododo will earn even greater support from Bassa.”
