Kogi ADC Members Raise Alarm Over Alleged Leadership Hijack
The crisis in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has spread to Kogi State, where some members say there is a plot to hijack the party’s leadership.
Speaking at a press conference in Kabba, spokesperson of the Concerned Members of ADC, Usman Lukman, said certain individuals “unknown to the party’s structure” were trying to impose themselves as leaders.
He described the move as unconstitutional and vowed it would be resisted through legal means.
> “The ADC in Kogi was built from the grassroots with sacrifice and discipline. No one will be allowed to take it over illegally,” Lukman said.
The group reaffirmed loyalty to Hon. Elder Leke Abejide, recognized him as the state leader, and dismissed those behind the plot as “political opportunists.”
It also warned security agencies not to give recognition or protection to any ADC meetings not authorized by Abejide or the state chairman.
> “Any gathering by impostors is illegal and a threat to peace in Kogi,” the group said.
