Kabba APC: “Concerned Stakeholders” Reject Allegations of Impersonation, Say Party Needs Peace and Unity

A group of All Progressives Congress, APC, leaders in Kabba led by Elder Benjamin Olowodola has dismissed allegations of impersonation leveled against members who recently visited Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, insisting that the party in Kabba remains united and indivisible.

The group, under the aegis of “Concerned APC Stakeholders and Leaders, Kabba,” made this known in a rejoinder issued on Friday, May 17, 2026, titled: _”REJOINDER: ON THE PURPORTED ‘OPEN WARNING’ TO AGENTS OF DIVISION – SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT.”_

The statement was in response to an earlier publication captioned: _”STOP IMPERSONATING KABBA APC LEADERS…”_ which claimed that those who visited Hon. Faleke were not authorized to represent the party.

The stakeholders clarified that the delegation to Hon. Faleke comprised “known APC leaders, stakeholders and members from Kabba, drawn from party elders, women, youths, and community representatives.”

“To reduce the delegation to ‘personal admirers’ is a disservice to the years of commitment, service, and contributions these individuals have made to building the APC in Kabba,” the rejoinder stated.

It added that “leadership in politics is not only about holding elective and appointive positions. It is also about mobilization, influence, grassroots presence, and the respect one commands within the party,” noting that those who made the visit acted in good faith.

The group described as “unfair and malicious” the labeling of party members as “impostors” and “agents of division” for identifying with and commending a party leader.

The group further alleged that it was unfortunate that some individuals who benefited from the goodwill of party leaders after the 2019 general elections are now sponsoring faceless groups to challenge the authority of those building the party in the district.

They advised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to be wary of some individuals working with him who pretend to be assets to the party when they are, in fact, liabilities.

“Hon. Faleke is a prominent leader of our party and a proud son of Kogi State whose developmental efforts benefit all of us. Acknowledging his contributions does not amount to hijacking the party,” they said.

“The APC thrives on inclusiveness, not exclusion. Attempts to gate-keep who is a ‘leader’ or who can speak for the party will only create the very division the authors claim to be against.”

The stakeholders emphasized that Kabba APC remains “one united family” and that the visit was intended to “cement relationships” and pass a vote of confidence, in line with the spirit of unity the party preaches.

They urged members to avoid “inflammatory language and needless polarization,” stressing that “no individual or group owns the APC in Kabba. The party belongs to all of us – executives, elders, women, youths, and supporters.”

The group reaffirmed loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, and Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.

“We call on the media and the public to disregard any attempt to create crisis where none exists. Kabba APC is peaceful, united, and focused on delivering for our people ahead of 2027,” the statement concluded.

“Let us debate issues, not personalities. Let us build bridges, not walls. A political party grows stronger when all tendencies are carried along, not when some members are branded as ‘fake’ for exercising their rights.”

The rejoinder was signed by Chief Olugbemi Femi, Kogi State House of Assembly Aspirant, Kabba/Bunu State Constituency, on behalf of the Media Group.
