Kogi Police Assure Adequate Security for Okura II Bye-Election
The Kogi State Police Command has assured the good people of Kogi State that they are fully prepared to provide adequate security for the upcoming Okura II State Constituency bye-election scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025.
According to a statement signed by SP William Ovye Aya, Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Police Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, has reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment and preparedness to work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the bye-election.
The police commissioner urged members of the affected areas to fully cooperate with law enforcement officers to guard against criminal elements who may want to disrupt the election process. He warned would-be troublemakers to stay away from polling booths and collection centers, stressing that anyone caught breaching the law regulating the conduct of the election will be dealt with decisively.
The police also cautioned members of the public not to take the law into their hands, as they will not hesitate to deal with anyone who may want to disrupt the existing peace in the state.
The police command is working closely with other security agencies to ensure the safety and security of all voters, electoral officials, and other stakeholders during the bye-election.
