The award was presented to the institution at the 16th Anniversary and Awards Ceremony of Democracy Newsline Newspaper held in Abuja.

The organisers cited the college’s commitment to academic excellence, quality training of health professionals, and infrastructural development under its current leadership.

The recognition was received on behalf of the college by Sanitarian Umar Anateku Shu’aibu, Provost of the institution.

In his remarks, the Provost dedicated the award to the staff, students, and the Kogi State Government for their support.

“This honour belongs to all of us. It is a testament to the hard work of our staff and the vision of the Kogi State Government to reposition health training in the state. We will not relent in producing competent health workers for Nigeria,” Sanitarian Shu’aibu stated.

He further noted that the college has, in recent years, recorded significant improvements in accreditation, training facilities, and student performance, which have positioned it as a leading health training institution in the North Central region.

The organisers said the award was in recognition of the college’s outstanding contributions to health manpower development and its role in strengthening the healthcare system in North Central Nigeria.

Other recipients of award include Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr Austin Orette, ADC Candidate, Delta South Senatorial District, Chief Dr Habibat Tajjani, Accountant General of Kogi state and Senator Sunday Karimi, Hon Salman Idris, member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency etc
