PROF. ABUBAKAR OLANREWAJU SULAIMAN BAGS DISTINGUISHED PUBLIC SERVICE LEADERSHIP AWARD
Honour Recognises Contributions to Legislative Development and Democratic Governance

The Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, Abuja, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, has been honoured with the Distinguished Public Service Leadership Award by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
The award was presented at the newspaper’s 16th Anniversary and Awards Ceremony held in Abuja.
The organisation recognised Prof. Sulaiman for his outstanding leadership, commitment to deepening democratic institutions, and contributions to legislative capacity building in Nigeria.
Prof. Sulaiman was represented at the event by Professor Zubairu Dagona of NILDS.
In the goodwill message delivered on his behalf, the Director-General expressed appreciation to Democracy Newsline for the recognition. He described the award as a motivation to do more in strengthening legislative processes and democratic governance in the country.
“I dedicate this honour to the staff and management of NILDS, and to all public servants who are committed to service with integrity. This recognition will spur us to continue building institutions that deliver for the Nigerian people,” the message stated.
The organisers said the Distinguished Public Service Leadership Award was in recognition of Prof. Sulaiman’s transformative leadership at NILDS, his scholarly contributions, and his role in promoting research, training, and policy support for the National Assembly and other democratic institutions.
Other recipients of award include Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr Austin Orette, ADC Candidate, Delta South Senatorial District, Chief Dr Habibat Tajjani, Accountant General of Kogi state and Senator Sunday Karimi etc
