The statewide initiative, which commenced in Kotonkarfe LGA in Kogi West West last week, extending to Kogi Central, starting from Ajaokuta and Ogorimagongo LGAs, was funded by the Senator representing Kogi West, Sunday Karimi.

In his address during the ceremony, Capt Idris Wada, a former Governor of the state and Chairman KPSF, disclosed that items worth N300m are being distributed simultaneously across the 21 LGAs in the State.
The former Governor said the gesture represents President Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to providing succour to Nigerians and solicited more support from Kogi citizens for the president.

The Forum Chairman praised Senator Sunday Karimi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District for making the funds available for the items in support of Ramadan and Lent in all the Local Government Areas in the East, and the entire state.
Capt Wada also praised President Tinubu for embarking on sweeping economic reforms, including removing the fuel subsidy, unifying foreign exchange rates, and reducing the debt-service-to-revenue ratio.
He lauded the achievements of the President to include infrastructure development, increased non-oil revenue, student loans, social welfare programmes such as the 3MTT project; increasing the tax-to-GDP ratio from under 10 percent to 13.5 percent, significantly increased non-oil revenue, and improved foreign reserves, among others.
Wada thanked Karimi for identifying with Kogi citizens in this period, emphasizing that the lawmaker has proven to be a bridge and support whenever the need arised. He assured of the total support for President Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 election.
According to Wada, a total of 1500 bags of rice are to be distributed per Ward. He noted that the food distribution will be taking place in Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Idah, Ibaji, Igalamela, Ofu and Ajaokuta LGAs, assuring of more support from more volunteers.
In their various remarks, Salihu Adobanyi lauded President Tinubu for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for higher education, the N70,000 national minimum wage, and increased NYSC allowances to N77,000, saying the impact has eased burden of parents.
