Mangal Cement Industry Commissions Additional Solar-Powered Borehole in Iluhagba

Mangal Cement Industry has commissioned an additional solar-powered borehole in Iluhagba, it’s host community in Kogi State, as part of its Community Development Agreement (CDA).

Speaking at the event, which was well-attended by the community, the General Manager, Transport and Logistics, Muhammad Umar Sanda, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining a cordial relationship with the host community and implementing all agreements to enhance living standards.

He noted that the company has already delivered 6 solar-powered boreholes as outlined in the CDA, and the additional one is necessary to support the existing ones, ensuring access to clean, potable water.

The elated monarch of the community, Oba David Samuel Olayemi, commended the company’s generosity for aiding the community, saying the people are grateful for the support, especially during the dry season.

He commended Mangal Cement Industry for its efforts, saying the company has lived up to expectations.

While, the President of Iluhagba Development Association, (IDA) Dr Wale Oyelola, praised the company for listening to the people, saying the association will continue to support efforts to maintain harmony between the company and the community.

He nostalgically acknowledged the company’s kind gesture in December, providing medical supplies worth over ₦5 million and other items to the community.

The Community Liaison Officer, Hon. Dare Osawu, said the additional solar-powered borehole was necessary because one of the existing ones had issues, so the company provided another one in front of the traditional ruler’s house to support the existing ones.

He commended the General Manager, Administration and Human Resources, Dr. Umar Musa, for providing the right leadership that enables the company and host communities to continue enjoying cordial relationships.

He also noted that the company has provided another solar-powered borehole in Odokoro-Gbede to replace the existing one that’s not functioning up to expectations.

He further noted that the company has also provided solar-powered boreholes in Agrigbon-Gbede, and Iyara.

He praised the company’s continued efforts to maintain good working relationships with the host community by improving the livelihood of the people.

He urged the host communities to continue supporting the company to create a conducive atmosphere for it to work and achieve its goals while developing their communities.

Other members of the Mangal Cement team who attended the event include IT Manager, Ismail Sani, representing the General Manager, Administration and Human Resources; Obumneme Okoli (Quarry Manager); Dr. Almu Mohammed Nasir (Human Resources Manager), Admin. Manager, Abdullahi Ibrahim, Sandra Ogechukwu Chukuma; and Dr. Mathew Tope, Mopa CLO.

Community members who attended included His Royal Highness, Oba Samuel Olayemi David, Chief Araba, Chief Adebay William, Chief Ologe, Chief Obalugba, Chief Obaholo Mercy Alfred, and Chief Soji Komolafe, among others.
