By Peter Azi – Jos
The Director of Protocol to the Governor of Plateau State, Mr. Jibrin Sule Dakup, has been honored by his community and coronated as the Magaji of Matol. The event, which took place at the community’s football field in Bokkos Local Government Area, drew dignitaries from far and near.
The Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Arc Samuel Jatau, who represented the Governor at the occasion, described Jibril as an industrious and astute personality.
According to Jatau, Governor Mutfwang is dedicated to delivering more dividends of democracy to the community, as the road grading to the community has commenced.
In his message, the National Chairman of Bokkos Community Association, Engineer Stephen Mashat Ezekiel, described the celebrant as a round peg in a round hole.
“The new Magaji is a pillar in the community and he is the right person for the position. He inherited his late father and it is the right thing that has been done. We are proud and happy with this development,” Ezekiel said.
“This is very significant to our community. There must be a leader who will make statements for the followers to follow. That leader must be a visionary leader,” Ezekiel added.
In his speech, the celebrant said it was a great day for him to inherit the title of his father, who died about 30 years ago. “It is an honor from my community. I thank the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, and urge all to support the activities of the Governor,” he said.
The event was spiced with different cultural performances and attended by top government officials.
