Minister of Steel Development congratulates Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and winners of Kogi LG Polls

The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as well as the winners of the Local Government Council Elections across the twenty-one (21) Local Government Areas and 239 wards of the State.

Prince Audu, in his congratulatory message on Sunday, October 20, 2024, described their landslide victory as a great win for the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the party clinched all the seats at the recently concluded polls for both Chairmanship and Councilorship elections.

The Minister stated that their victories were a reflection of the good governance already laid down by the State Governor under the current party structure, urging the newly elected Chairmen and Councillors to continue with the good governance at the local government level.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you on your well deserved victory in the Local Government Council elections, and we could not be prouder to have you as our representatives.

“As you take on the responsibility of your new roles, we expect that you deliver on the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, as you are in the best position to deliver this to the people at the grassroots following the Supreme Court Judgement on Local Government Autonomy.

“We have high hopes that you will continue to foster collaboration and engagement with the community, listening to their voices and addressing their concerns. Good governance is not just about making decisions; it is about ensuring that the policies you advocate reflect the needs and aspirations of all constituents.

“I urge you all to prioritise projects that enhance the quality of life for every citizen in your respective local governments and wards. We look forward to witnessing the positive changes you will bring under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and stand ready to support you in your endeavors.”
