Marktot Oil and Gas, in partnership with MRS Oil and Gas, has opened a new service station in Kabba, Kogi State.
The station, located along Kabba – Omuo-Ekiti road specifically, Obaro highway opposite Late Gbadebo Aka’s palace, is expected to provide quality fuel products and services to the community.

Speaking with our correspondent shortly after the station was declared open for operations, Dr. Raphael Arokoyo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Marktot Oil and Gas, described the partnership as “symbolic” and a win-win situation for the community.
He said the station will offer a range of fuel products, including petrol and diesel. He added that MRS Oil and Gas is a subsidiary of the Dangote Group, chaired by Alhaji Sivanus, a family member of Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

According to him, the Dangote Group, MRS Oil and Gas are subsidizing petroleum product prices, bridging the gap between majority marketers and depot owners who still import refined petroleum products into the country.
He said Alhaji Aliko Dangote being a smart business man, he decided to enter strategic partnership with MRS Oil and Gas enables affordable prices nationwide.

He noted that through the efforts of MRS Oil and Gas, the prices of petroleum products are being subsidized, making it possible to sell at a lower price of ₦839 per liter.
“We partnered with MRS Oil and Gas to access subsidized petroleum products for the community’s benefit.
He noted that the current product, 50,000 liters, was delivered by a Dangote truck from Lagos, courtesy of Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s free delivery promise, reaching Kabba at no extra cost.
He attributed this to the generosity of Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who is providing free delivery of products to the station under the free delivery scheme championed by Dangote Refinery.
“To me, it’s a win-win situation, reducing the burden on people accessing products at a lower cost, allowing them to enjoy more value from their earnings instead of spending it all on energy. The company’s presence guarantees energy security for the community.
Dr Arokoyo highlighted the benefits of the partnership, including energy security and access to affordable fuel products for the community.
He acknowledged that even Marktot Oil and Gas can’t match that price, considering the cost of transporting products from the depot.
He commended Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s noble gesture and emphasized that Marktot Oil and Gas is committed to core values such as honesty, integrity, empathy, and resilience.
The new service station is expected to create employment opportunities and contribute to the local economy.
Dr Arokoyo hinted at future opportunities from the Dangote refinery, including polypropylene production, a petrochemical byproduct, expected to make Nigeria a plastic product exporter.
“By God’s grace, we’re expecting more opportunities from the Dangote refinery, specifically its petrochemical arm. The polypropylene unit, set to be operational by the second quarter, will enable Nigeria to stop importing plastic products and become an exporter instead, as polypropylene is a petrochemical byproduct.
He urged other well-to-do individuals to emulate this example and add value to their communities, saying, “What we’ve done in Kabba is symbolic and worthy of commendation.”
Personalities present on the occasion included His Royal Highness, Oba Joseph Oshatuyi, Oba of Odolu; His Royal Highness, Matthew Tolorunshagba Obagbayi of Oweland; PA JO Samuel; Management of UBA Kabba Branch; community chiefs etc
