Mulade Expresses Gratitude, Pledges Accountability as INC National Treasurer

By Wilson Macaulay

Newly elected National Treasurer of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) worldwide, Double Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff (PhD), the Ibe-Serimowei of ancient oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State has expressed deep appreciation to key stakeholders for their overwhelming support in his emergence at the April 13, 2026 national elections.

In a statement, Mulade thanked the outgoing INC President, Prof. Benjamin Okaba, the National Executive Council (NEC), the 2026 National Electoral Commission, led by His Royal Majesty, Justice F.F.Tabai (Rtd), national delegates, as well as the entire Ijaw Nation for the confidence reposed in him.

He described his victory as a collective mandate, noting that the trust placed in him serves as a call to greater responsibility and service.

Mulade pledged to work collaboratively with other members of the executive council led by High Chief Macdonald Igbadiwei Esq and critical stakeholders to ensure transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management within the congress.

“I am deeply honoured by this mandate and remain committed to upholding the highest standards of accountability in the discharge of my duties,” he said.

The newly elected treasurer further assured that he would contribute his best efforts toward strengthening the INC and advancing the unity, progress, and overall development of the Ijaw Nation.

The renowned environmentalist and peace advocate reaffirmed his readiness to support initiatives that will reposition the congress and enhance its role in promoting the socio-cultural and political aspirations of the Ijaw people.

It is imperative to state that Ijaw National Congress (INC) will move from conventional socio-cultural organisation to a productive platform with a special focus on establishing business opportunities to help our people and the Niger Delta region at large, especially creating and lunching INC farms, fishing port, cooperate and administrative employment opportunities through constructive engagement from all multinational companies operating within the Ijawland, he added.
