Musa Kida : Reinvigorating Nigeria’s oil sector @65,

A near septuagenarian, expert , public servant, engineer, sportsman with biased in basketball and current chairman, board, Nigeria National Petroleum Company Ltd ,NNPCL, Alhaji Musa Kida clocked 65 years on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026.
Musa who started his early career in the oil industry at Elf Petroleum Nigeria and later joined Total Exploration and Production as a trainee engineer in 1985, performed excellently for the last four decades , hence, his recent appointment as NNPCL board chairman.

During his stint , Musa became Total Nigeria’s Deputy Managing Director of Deep Water Services in 2015. Last year, he became an Independent Non-Executive Director at Pan Ocean-Newcross Group.
Apart from his oil industry career, Ahmadu Musa Kida is a former basketballer and the President of the Nigerian Basketball Federation(NBBF) board to promote extra curricular activities and sports ..
SInce joining Elf Petroleum Nigeria Limited, now Total Exploration & Production Nigeria (TEPNG), in 1985, Mr Kida has distinguished himself as an outstanding professional in the Nigerian oil sector and has helped shape its growth.
In 2014, Ahmadu-Kida Musa was appointed an Executive Director and a Member of the TEPNG Board.
He took charge of the Deep water District as the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) in 2015. In this capacity, he is also a Member of the Board of Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria (TUCN).,
His portfolio as DMD DW includes the Egina Deep water Development project that will bring an additional 200,000 bpd when put on stream.
Apart from his oil industry career, Ahmadu Musa Kida is a former basketballer and the president of the Nigerian Basketball Federation(NBBF) board.
Musas wealth of experience contributed greatly to the ongoing reforms in the NNPCL and returning the organization to profitability.
