In a significant show of political alignment and grassroots mobilization, no fewer than 560 leaders of pro-APC support groups drawn from across Northern Nigeria convened to declare their support for the Abdul’aziz Yari Renewed Hope For Tunubu 2027, an initiative associated with Senator Abdul’aziz Yari.
The platform, they said, is designed to mobilize public awareness and build momentum toward the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued in Kaduna and signed by the convener of the coalition, Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu, a seasoned political strategist known for his expertise in uniting diverse political groups across Nigeria. Dawakin Kudu, a former Director of Media and ex-Special Adviser on Media Organizations during the administration of former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje—who also served as the National Chairman of the APC—explained that the meeting was both strategic and timely.
According to the statement, the gathering was motivated by growing admiration for the political commitment and leadership style of Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, the former Governor of Zamfara State and current Senator representing Zamfara West.
Yari is widely recognized as a key sponsor of the Renewed Hope Network, a political movement aimed at promoting the policies and continuity agenda of President Tinubu.
In their deliberations, the group outlined an ambitious organizational blueprint that includes establishing structures at all levels—polling units, wards, local governments, and states—across Northern Nigeria. This bottom-up approach, they believe, will ensure effective grassroots engagement as the country gradually approaches the 2027 general elections.
One of the participants, Dr. Sulaiman Abubakar from Kwara State, emphasized that the initiative was purely voluntary and not orchestrated by Senator Yari himself. He noted that their support stems from genuine admiration for Yari’s dedication to the APC and his visible commitment to securing a second term for President Tinubu.
“This movement is driven by love and conviction,” Dr. Abubakar stated. “We have not met Senator Yari, and he is not even aware of our individual identities. Yet, we are united under the leadership of Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu to support his vision and efforts.”
The meeting concluded with a resolution to reconvene after the Eid celebrations, either in Abuja or Kano, to plan a large-scale rally demonstrating support for Senator Yari and the broader APC agenda ahead of future elections.
In the meantime, the group has intensified efforts to recruit young men and women across the North, focusing on building a formidable political base capable of influencing electoral outcomes.
Operating under the banner “Abdul’aziz Yari Renewed Hope for Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027,” the coalition has already begun compiling lists of party agents for polling units across the region, with a strategy to deploy at least five representatives per polling unit.
Hon. Dawakin Kudu revealed that the movement is rapidly gaining traction among Northern communities, describing the initiative as both timely and commendable. He added that the group has developed detailed strategies aimed at delivering a decisive victory for President Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
“Our objective is to build a strong and sustainable political structure from the grassroots,” he said. “This will ensure that the President receives the support he needs to secure re-election.”
He further noted that the group’s resolve is strengthened by the leadership qualities demonstrated by Senator Yari, whom they regard as a central figure in the effort to consolidate APC’s political dominance.
“As long as we continue to receive support from admirers of Senator Yari and like-minded Nigerians, we will not relent in our mission to ensure President Tinubu’s victory in 2027,” Dawakin Kudu affirmed.
