November Poll: Kogi Assembly Speaker wins Vote of Kakanda Community in Panda for Ododo

As the November 11 gubernatorial election draws near, members of the Kakanda Community in Panda, Kogi Local Government Area, have endorsed the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
This is contained in a press statement made available to the media by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed.
The statement said the community made the revelation during a visit to the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf in Lokoja.
Speaking on the group’s decision, Rt. Honourable Yusuf described their decision as a wise one, and expressed gratitude to them for it. He assured them that the confidence reposed in him and other leaders would not misapropriated.
He noted that the current Kogi Assembly is made up of people with passion for the general upliftment of the lives of Kogi citizens, especially rural dwellers.
The group, which was led to the office by the member representing Kogi State Constituency, Hon Idrees Aliyu Maikudi said their decision to endorse Ododo was as a result of the developmental strides of the speaker and the Assembly member who have given them a sense of belonging.
Spokesman of the group, who is also a former councilor for Girinya Ward, Honourable Gimba Panda applauded the speaker for his show of unique leadership qualities and commitment to the overall development of the state, noting that since his emergence, he has shown the zeal to bring a sense of belonging to all citizens.
He therefore said the people of the area have resolved to vote massively for the APC in the November gubernatorial election to strengthen the leadership of the speaker and member of the Assembly, under whose leadership they have arrived at the decision.
Speaking, the member representing Kogi State Constituency, Hon Aliyu Idrees Maikudi extolled the virtues of Panda people who he noted, are honest, dedicated and passionate in whatever they put their minds.
He stressed that they were among the ethnic groups that supported and worked exceedingly well to ensure his victory during the Assembly Poll that produced him as a member of the State legislature, adding that he is glad that they have decided to back the APC in the November election.
