Okebukun PDP Leader, Elder Joseph Ikuenayo resigns, joins APC

Ahead of the November 11 governorship election in Kogi state, more people from the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) are resigning from the party to join the governing party of the All Progressives Congress, among whom is Elder Joseph Ikuenayo,  the PDP  Okebukun ward leader from Bunu district of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area who acknowledged his defection two days ago.

Speaking at the event which was held in Okebukun, Elder Ikuenayo said it is time to team up with the progressives party for the benefit of his community, described the giant strides of Governor Yahaya Bello in the area of education as his main attraction, especially the construction of the Model Science Secondary School, Okebukun and the newly established University in Kabba.

He said being an experienced politician, he can no longer afford to remain in the opposition as such he has decided to join the governing party, pointing out that he will join hands with the party stakeholders to secure victory for Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman in the forthcoming Governorship election.

While welcoming him into the party, the former House of Assembly members, Barrister Alfred Bello and  Director General, Okun United for Ododo/Joel and Hon. Nathaniel Taiwo who is one of the leaders in the ward, assured him of equal treatment like old members.

They said it is time for the people of Kogi West and Okunland in particular to rally around the candidate of the APC as that is the sure way of accessing the needed development for the area.

He defected with some of his followers in the ward.
