Okun Governor 2027: Prof Olu Obafemi Sounds Alarm Over Lack of Preparation
A prominent Nigerian academic, Prof. Emritus Olu Obafemi, has expressed concerns about the lack of preparation among Okun indigenes vying for the governor’s seat in Kogi State in 2027.
During a visit by the Okun League of Progressive Elites, Obafemi emphasized the need for unity and strategic planning among Okun people to achieve their goal of producing a governor.
“The lack of preparation is glaring, and if we don’t get it right, we’ll miss the opportunity in the future,” Obafemi warned.
He stressed that Okun indigenes must put aside their differences and work towards a common goal if they want to win the governor’s seat anytime it comes.
The Okun League of Progressive Elites, led by its Director-General, Hon Alfred Bello visited Obafemi at his base in Ilorin, Kwara State, to seek his counsel and support.
The DG praised Obafemi’s contributions to Nigeria and Kogi State, saying he has a strong voice and is well-respected among Okun personalities.
“We appealed to him to lend his voice and support the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo second time” the DG said, highlighting Obafemi’s influence in the region.
The professor’s call for unity and strategic planning among Okun indigenes is seen as a timely reminder of the need for cohesion and preparation if they want to achieve their goal of producing a governor in 2027.
