PRESS RELEASE
PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF OUR LEGISLATORS AT THE
NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
The above named organization has been championing the cause of the Okun Nation since 1999, at the advent of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.
It was established primarily to emancipate the Okun people from the oppression and subjugation resulting from the arbitrary grouping of individuals with different languages and cultures.
At its extraordinary National Executive Council meeting held on Thursday, November 28, 2024, the organization reviewed various issues, including the performance of its legislators.
We are pleased to report that our legislators, namely Distinguished Senator Sunday Karimi, Hon. (Elder) Leke Abejide, and Arch. Salman Idris, have performed exceptionally well based on the following parameters: infrastructural development, women empowerment, manpower development, supply of agricultural implements, establishment of a military formation in Egbe, scholarships for indigent students, and provision of “Stomach Infrastructure”, among other achievements.
Additionally, they are approachable and attentive to the needs of the people.
We commend the synergy among the legislators and urge them to continue fostering such collaboration.
It is important to remind all elected officials that a day of accountability will come.
Therefore, they should strive to leave behind a good name and a lasting legacy.
This not only benefits their children in the future but also preserves their reputation, especially if they aspire to contest for office again.
