Okun Unity Dialogue 2026 Holds Today in Abuja

By Our Correspondent

The much-anticipated Okun Unity Dialogue 2026 will hold today, Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Abuja, with stakeholders and sons and daughters of Okunland expected to converge on the Federal Capital Territory for discussions on unity, development and the collective future of the Okun people.

The event, organised by the Okun Development Initiative (ODI), is scheduled to take place at the AMRRD Forces Officers’ Mess and Suites, Asokoro, Abuja, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The dialogue is expected to provide a platform for critical stakeholders, community leaders, professionals, youths, political actors and other concerned Okun indigenes to deliberate on issues affecting the people and explore ways of strengthening unity and promoting sustainable development across Okunland.

The organisers said the initiative is aimed at encouraging constructive engagement and fostering a stronger sense of togetherness among Okun people, irrespective of political, social or other differences.

The gathering is also expected to highlight the importance of collective action in addressing challenges confronting the Okun people and in advancing their interests within Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

Participants are expected to use the occasion to exchange ideas, identify areas of common interest and chart a new course for greater cooperation and peaceful coexistence among the various communities that make up Okunland.

The Okun Development Initiative (ODI) has continued to emphasise the need for unity and purposeful engagement as essential ingredients for meaningful development, particularly at a time when communities and stakeholders are increasingly seeking inclusive platforms for dialogue.

With the theme centred on Okun unity and collective advancement, the Okun Unity Dialogue 2026 is expected to attract significant attention and generate conversations that could shape future initiatives for the development and cohesion of Okunland.
