The Oluku Club Kabba in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, North Central Nigeria, has celebrated its 2025 Oluku Day, with a call for collective efforts to drive development in Kabba and Owe land.
In his address, National President Mr. Peter Onaiyekan highlighted the club’s focus on education, health, security, and agriculture.
According to him, the club has initiated an agribusiness program to boost the local economy, aiming to promote mechanized farming on at least 100 hectares in each ward in Kabba district.

Onaiyekan also acknowledged government initiatives like NELFUND and the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund, urging citizens to take advantage of these programs.
He also paid tribute to three deceased members: Julius Bayo Onietan, Joseph Dele Arokoyo, and Joseph Jimoh Olobashola.
Oluku Club Kabba, a prominent social organization, has been driving community development in different sectors like education, health, and empowerment.
In 2025, the club awarded educational support to 20 outstanding indigent students across secondary schools, both public and private, in Kabba metropolis, demonstrating its dedication to empowering the youth.

Club members and dignitaries gathered to celebrate the achievements of the beneficiaries, who were selected based on their academic excellence and financial need.
A senior scientist at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Dr. Patrick Olusanmi Adebola, represented by Mr. Mark John, delivered a paper highlighting the vast opportunities in Nigeria’s agricultural sector, emphasizing the crucial role of youth and women in driving growth and food security.
Speaking at the 2025 Oluku Day, Adebola identified areas of opportunity, including crop production, livestock and fisheries, agro-processing, and agricultural technology.
He cited government initiatives and growing demand for food products as key drivers for investment.
However, Adebola also noted challenges such as infrastructure constraints, limited access to finance, climate change, and market barriers.
He advocated for climate-smart practices, innovative financing, and trade facilitation to unlock the sector’s potential.
