Professor Amani Pledges to Lift Amani-COHELATHTEC as School Holds Symposium
Ahiaba Douglas – Abuja
The Rector of Amani College of Health Sciences and Technology, Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Professor Amani Danjuma, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to uplifting the institution for the realization of their collective vision.
Prof. Amani made this declaration during a symposium and interactive session between the school management, students, and parents on Monday, August 4th, 2025. The event, which drew a large turnout, was aimed at clarifying and addressing misconceptions about the school.
The engagement followed a recent campaign of calumny and misinformation allegedly instigated by some uninformed individuals and organizations. These false claims had generated anxiety among students and parents over the stability and credibility of the college.
It will be recalled that a staff member—name withheld—who resigned from the college via social media after being implicated in sharp practices and financial fraud, was alleged to have spearheaded the smear campaign, spreading derogatory comments that unsettled the college community.
In a bold move to dispel the rumors and restore confidence, Prof. Amani assured students and parents of his dedication to their academic and professional success. He stressed that he would leave no stone unturned in ensuring the college remains reputable within the community of health sciences and technology institutions.
“I am not a businessman in this sector; I have all my certificates in Educational Management from first degree to PhD. I am here to mould the future of our young ones,” Prof. Amani stated.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. El-Hassan Mohammed Yakub, in his presentation titled “Misconceptions on the Establishment of Colleges of Health Sciences in Nigeria”, clarified that accreditation is granted by designated regulatory bodies, not by the colleges themselves. He noted that the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) is responsible for accrediting courses in Colleges of Health Sciences and Technology nationwide.
Dr. El-Hassan urged students to focus on their studies and disregard unfounded rumors, assuring them that the Rector is working tirelessly to position Amani COHELATHTECn to solid footing for sustainable growth.
