R.C.C Jos Jarawa Celebrates Reunion and Fund Raising
The Headquarters of the Regional Church Council , R.C.C), Jos Jarawa was beehive of activities as members of the R.C.C and dignitaries from all walks of life joins them to give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness.
The annual event enable members within and outside the R.C.C to reunite with one another and also give glory to God.
The Event witnessed large turn of members from all the Fourteen Local Church Councils (LCCs) of the R.C.C.
In his homily, Reverend Associate Professor Benjamin Pokwol, who’s the COCIN General Secretary, took his text from the book of 2 Kings 4:8-37 with the topic, Living In holiness.
The Clergy charged the congregation to graduate from programmed spirituality to character spirituality.
According to him, holiness or living a holy life is beyond just cultivating personal purity, participating in Church activities or holding positions in the Church but to imbibe the life like that of Christ and also live the life that will benefit others and attract them to you.
Rev. Pokwol further read from the books of Galatians 2:20 and Philippians 3:10.
In his speech, the Governor of Plateau state, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang reiterated his administration’s commitment to partner with the Church for the progress of the state.
The Governor used the occasion to thanked R.C.C Jos Jarawa and the entire believers,for their fervent prayers for those in power, encouraged them to stand firm and be resolute in Christ.
He was represented at the occasion by the Former Speaker of the State House of Assembly and who doubles as the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative matters and Chairman of the organizing committee.
Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan, flanked by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Isah Madaki Ajiji, Hon. Daniel Nanlon, Member representing Mikang, other members of the state Assembly that accompanied the Speaker were Pankshin North and South, as well as Hon. Philip Dasun former member , representing Pankshin North.
He commended the R C.C for their commitment and love for Christ and urged them to sustain it.
Christ is the only way especially in the moment of hard times like this.
Good will messages came from His Royal Highness,Reverend Dr. Isaac Azi Wakili,the Agwom Izere, thanked God for the time like this to gather once in a year and thank the Lord.
The Royal father also appreciated the Clergy for praying for the leaders and the Country.
He admonish the believers to desist from criticizing their leaders negatively.
Also speaking,the Executive Chairman of Jos East Local Government Area, Hon. Markus Nyam Husseini,who was accompanied by all the 19 Councillors of the local Government Council, Secretary, Special adviser to the Governor on Peace Building, Hon. Monday Nyam Ajiya pledge their commitment for the support of the Church always and commended the Church for such a laudable program.
The Chairman also appreciated Governor Mutfwang for Conducting a transparent,free and fear local Governments Election in the state and enables citizens to vote for the candidates of their choices.
Chairman of Jos North Local Government,represented by the Secretary of the Locality, Hon. Pharmacist Chung Gyang said Jos North Local Government Council is elated with R.C.C Jos Jarawa especially for organizing such a remarkable program,he was accompanied by the Leader of the legislative Arm, Hon. Ayuba Izang, His deputy and Councillor Representing Jos Jarawa Ward, Hon. Izang Stephen Atsi.
In his address,the Chairman of the R C.C,Reverend David Ajang,who could not hide his Joy,said the essence of the program is to appreciate God as a single body of Christ and also donate for the work of Christ.
He urged Christians to remain firm and look up to Christ at the hard moments like this.
