Radda’s In-Law, Ahmed Uthman, in Police Net Over Alleged N420m Scam
Governor Umaru Dikko Radda’s in-law, Ahmed Uthman Mohammad, is currently being detained at the Criminal Investigation Department of the FCT for allegedly defrauding a businessman of N420m.
Sources said Uthman allegedly convinced the businessman to release N420m for an investment deal, claiming he had secured a $3m contract to provide forex for Hajj operations in Katsina State.
It was gathered that after collecting the N420m, Uthman disappeared and stopped communicating with the businessman. Aggrieved, the businessman approached both the Nigeria Police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to help him recover the money. The police swiftly arrested Uthman.
It will be recalled that Uthman lost in the just-concluded APC House of Representatives primaries after seeking the ticket for the Yola North/Yola South/Girei Federal Constituency on the platform of the ruling party.
