Right of Reply: Silas Ibrahim Jos’ Social Justice Group’s Baseless Claims Against Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje
In response to the recent statements by the so-called Social Justice Group, led by Silas Ibrahim Jos and allegedly supported by Saleh Zazzaga, we would like to address the baseless accusations aimed at destabilizing the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leadership, particularly the current National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
It is no secret that the North-Central region has played a significant role in Nigerian politics, and their contributions to the APC cannot be ignored. However, the claims being made by Silas Ibrahim Jos and his cohort are nothing more than a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of Dr. Ganduje and sow seeds of discord within the party. Their outbursts are driven by selfish interests rather than a genuine concern for the progress of the APC.
We must remind these detractors that leadership is earned through competence, loyalty, and service. Dr. Ganduje, as the National Chairman, has exhibited all these qualities, and his leadership has been instrumental in reuniting the party, especially in the North-West region, where defections from opposition parties have been reversed. Under his leadership, APC has made tremendous strides in stabilizing and strengthening the party, especially after the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
The insistence by Silas Ibrahim Jos’ group that the North-Central region should immediately reclaim the seat of National Chairman reeks of entitlement and a lack of respect for the democratic process. Furthermore, instead of holding Senator Abdullahi Adamu accountable for his inability to effectively manage the affairs of the APC during his tenure, this group is attempting to lay the blame on the current chairman and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
This group, acting in bad faith, has no mandate to speak for the North-Central region, nor does it reflect the views of the majority of APC members in the region. By attacking the current leadership and trying to pressure the NEC, they are showing their true colors: individuals seeking to divide the party rather than unite it.
We urge all right-thinking members of the APC, especially from the Northern and North-West regions, to stand firmly behind Dr. Ganduje. His track record as a seasoned politician and administrator, as well as his dedication to the party, makes him the best person to continue leading the APC. Removing him at this critical juncture would only set back the party’s progress and weaken its chances in the coming elections.
It is also critical that the party’s leadership, under the guidance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, remain vigilant against these divisive elements and ensure that the APC remains united. The NEC must assess Dr. Ganduje’s performance objectively and not be swayed by the theatrics of a few individuals who seek to bring chaos to the party.
In conclusion, we call on Silas Ibrahim Jos and his group to desist from making unsubstantiated claims and to focus on supporting the party’s unity. The APC is stronger under Dr. Ganduje’s leadership, and any attempts to undermine him will ultimately fail. We trust in the wisdom of the NEC and the stakeholders of the party to make decisions that reflect the collective good, not the narrow ambitions of a few.
