This project is one out of 50 currently ongoing across the 36 states, and the first to be completed and ready for commissioning.

It is the first of its kind in Kogi State seen in the last 20years.

The project has been variously described as more than infrastructure but an investment in children, knowledge and the future of Kogi West.

The National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC) acknowledged Senator Karimi’s contribution to the successful delivery of the project, describing it as an important intervention aimed at improving the learning environment for students, teachers and the wider school community.

At the commissioning ceremony was former Kogi State House of Assembly member, Commodore Funsho Daniel (rtd) who represented Senator Karimi, representative of the National Secretary of NSSEC, representative of the Ohimege Igu of Koton Karfe, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu, the school principal, among others.

“Every improved school facility creates a better environment for learning. Every investment in education strengthens the human capital upon which the future of Kogi State depends. For the students of Government Science Secondary School, Kotonkarfe, this project is not simply a political statement it is a physical facility that can shape their educational journey and future. Kotonkarfe has witnessed another milestone in education. The legacy is now in the infrastructure, the learning and, ultimately, in the lives of the students who will benefit from it”, he said.
