In what many residents have described as a remarkable act of generosity and leadership, a delegation representing Distinguished Senator Garba Musa Maidoki has distributed vehicles and motorcycles to prominent Islamic scholars in Zuru town. The initiative, carried out under the guidance of Alhaji Bello Doya, widely known as Sarkin Gabas, highlights a growing effort to support religious leadership and strengthen community development.
The presentation ceremony took place at Izala Mosque No. 1 in Zuru, where community members gathered to witness the donation. According to eyewitness accounts and video footage from the event, two brand-new vehicles and three motorcycles were handed over to selected beneficiaries—individuals recognized for their dedication to religious service and community guidance.
The recipients of the donations include:
Sheikh Liman Hussain, who received a vehicle
Malam Muhammadu na Zango, who also received a vehicle
Malam Rabi’u Margai, who received a motorcycle
Malam Lawal Dattijo, who received a motorcycle
Malam Umaru Dan Bara, who received a motorcycle
Speaking during the event, representatives of the delegation emphasized that the gesture forms part of Senator Maidoki’s broader vision to uplift religious scholars and enhance their ability to serve their communities effectively. The initiative aligns with similar efforts championed by the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, popularly known as Kauran Gwandu, who has consistently advocated for the welfare and empowerment of religious leaders.
Community leaders and beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the senator’s generosity, describing the support as timely and impactful. They noted that such contributions not only ease mobility challenges but also enable scholars to expand their outreach and continue their vital roles in moral and spiritual guidance.
In their remarks, the beneficiaries collectively extended heartfelt gratitude to Senator Maidoki, offering prayers for his continued success and leadership. They also voiced strong support for his political future, urging him to seek re-election so he can sustain and expand his humanitarian efforts.
Observers say the initiative reflects a leadership style rooted in service, compassion, and community engagement—qualities that continue to resonate with many across the region.
