A member of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) Board of Trustees representing the North Central Zone, Dr. Abdulrahaman Ocholi Hassan, has paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu in his office in Lokoja, on Thursday.

Dr. Ocholi, who led the North Central TETFund delegation, said the visit was to appreciate the Deputy Governor for his support and encouragement over the years.

He also thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for supporting his appointment, describing the opportunity as a call to serve and contribute to the development of tertiary education.

Dr. Ocholi said he had visited the six North Central states and their tertiary institutions to assess their needs, inspect ongoing projects and identify projects requiring attention. He added that the tour was recently concluded in Kwara State.

He also appreciated Governor Ododo for the development projects ongoing in his hometown Oganenigwu, Dekina Local Government Area.

Earlier, the Director-General, Protocol, Government House, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim, described Dr. Ocholi as his “son and mentor,” noting that his commitment to community development and selfless service contributed to the confidence reposed in him.

The TETFund Zonal Coordinator, North Central, Dr. Mrs. Letishat Kpemgnem, described Ocholi as a vibrant and purposeful leader, noting that he had visited all fifty-four tertiary institutions in the zone within his short time in office.

Responding, the Deputy Governor thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for giving a Kogi indigene the opportunity to serve on the TETFund Board.

He also commended Governor Ododo for supporting Dr. Ocholi’s appointment, saying it was based on his capacity and ability to deliver.

The Deputy Governor described the appointment as “a round peg in a round hole,” stressing that Ocholi’s position was a strategic opportunity for Kogi State and the Igala people.

He expressed confidence that Dr. Ocholi would make Kogi proud, saying, “He has started well, and we are proud of him.”
