VP Shettima Pays Condolence Visit to Mahmoud Bala Alfa
Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, has paid a condolence visit to Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa and his family following the death of his father, Alhaji Mohammed Alfa.
The Vice President visited the family to commiserate with Dr. Mahmoud and his loved ones over the loss and to offer his condolences and prayers at this difficult time.
During the visit, the Vice President prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and asked Allah to forgive his shortcomings, have mercy on him and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
He also offered words of comfort to Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa and the entire family, reminding them of the temporary nature of this life and the need to remain steadfast in faith during moments of grief.
In his prayers, the Vice President invoked the Qur’anic words:
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”
Meaning: “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.”
(Qur’an 2:156)
He prayed that Allah grant the family patience and strength to bear the loss, and reward them for their faith and perseverance during this difficult period.
The visit also reflected the longstanding relationship between the Vice President and Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa, who has publicly described Senator Shettima as a mentor and leader whose example influenced his decision to seek public office.
Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa and his family expressed their appreciation to the Vice President for taking the time to visit and personally share in their grief.
They thanked him for his kind words, prayers and support during the period of mourning.
The family continues to receive condolences from political leaders, public officials, friends, associates and well-wishers across the country.
They prayed that Almighty Allah forgive Alhaji Mohammed Alfa, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and give the entire family the strength and comfort to bear the loss. Ameen.
