THE SENATOR SUNDAY KARIMI YOU DON’T KNOW

Many know Senator Sunday Steve Karimi as the man representing Kogi West in the 10th Senate. But beyond the title is a story of character, service, and quiet impact that deserves to be told.

1. A MAN OF HUMBLE BEGINNINGS & INTEGRITY
Senator Karimi did not stumble into leadership. From his days in Yagba West, he built a reputation as a businessman who kept his word. Staff, associates, and community members describe him as _accessible, blunt but fair, and allergic to waste_. He believes public office is stewardship, not a show.

2. LEGISLATIVE IMPACT: VOICE FOR KOGI WEST
At the National Assembly, he hit the ground running:
– Motions & Bills: He has sponsored and co-sponsored motions addressing insecurity along the Kabba–Lokoja–Abuja corridor, ecological challenges in Yagba, and the need for federal attention on Kabba-Ilorin road.
– Oversight: As Chairman, Senate Committee on Services, he has pushed for transparency and efficiency in National Assembly administration.
– Constituency Voice: He consistently speaks for Kogi West on power supply, education, and rural infrastructure on the Senate floor.

3. CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS: TOUCHING LIVES QUIETLY
While some make noise, Senator Karimi prefers results:
– Water Projects: Solar-powered boreholes in several Yagba and Lokoja/Koto communities.
– Education: Classroom blocks, furniture, and bursary support for Kogi West students in tertiary institutions.
– Empowerment: Training and startup grants for women and youths across the 7 LGAs – from Kabba/Bunu to Kogi/Koto.
– Healthcare:  Medical outreaches and donation of equipment to primary health centres.
– Interventions: Swift personal and legislative response during flooding and communal clashes in the district.

4. CHARACTER: THE KARIMI DIFFERENCE
Ask those who know him and you’ll hear the same words:
– Loyal – He stands by his people and his party through thick and thin.
– Grassroots Man– No “Abuja politician” tag. He’s home almost every weekend, attending burials, weddings, and town hall meetings.
– Fearless– He speaks truth to power, even when it’s not popular.
– Detribalized– Though from Yagba, his interventions cover Okun, Lokoja/Koto, and Oworo without bias.
– God-fearing– He publicly acknowledges God as the source of his elevation and service.

5. BRIDGE BUILDER FOR KOGI WEST
In a district with diverse interests, Senator Karimi has worked to unite traditional rulers, youth groups, and political leaders. He believes _Kogi West is bigger than any one LGA or individual_.

CONCLUSION: WHY HE MATTERS
The Senator Sunday Karimi you may not know is not perfect, but he is _present, proactive, and people-centered_. In an era where trust in leadership is low, Kogi West has a representative who remembers where he came from and who sent him.

As we watch the 10th Senate, let’s judge him by his actions, support the good he’s doing, and hold him accountable to do more.

Kogi West deserves a voice. In Senator Karimi, we have one.

_Okun a gbe gha o. Kogi West a gbe gha o._
