Veteran Broadcaster, Mrs. Moji Makanjuola, Leads 2026 Democracy Newsline Newspaper Public Lecture on Economic Reform, August 19
ABUJA — Renowned broadcaster and communication expert, Mrs. Moji Makanjuola, MFR has been appointed to serve as the Chairperson of the 16th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony organized by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, 19th August, 2026 at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja. It will mark the 27th Anniversary of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria.
The theme of this year’s lecture is “Economic Reform, Democracy and Sustainable Development: The Nigerian Example.”
According to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Chief Olugbemi Femi, Mrs. Makanjuola was chosen for her decades of experience in public discourse, media advocacy, and her commitment to national development.
“Mrs. Moji Makanjuola brings credibility, depth and national perspective to this year’s lecture,” Chief Femi said. “Her leadership as Chairperson will add great value to the conversation on economic reform and sustainable democracy in Nigeria.”
Mrs. Makanjuola is a veteran journalist and health communication specialist with over 30 years of experience in broadcasting. She is widely recognized for her work in promoting public health awareness and good governance through the media.
The 16th edition of the lecture will also feature the Induction of distinguished Nigerians into the Good Governance Hall of Fame and the presentation of awards to outstanding leaders in public service and community development.
Dignitaries expected at the event include government officials, policymakers, traditional rulers, captains of industry, academics, and civil society leaders.
The organizers stated that the annual lecture serves as a platform to evaluate Nigeria’s democratic journey and proffer solutions for sustainable development.
