This year’s theme, “Using the Nigerian Local Content Policy (2010) to Promote and Protect Indigenous Companies and Citizens – A Focus on Compliance Standards and the Host Communities Development Fund (HCDF) under the PIA, 2021,” is expected to spark robust discussions on the evolving role of indigenous participation in the energy sector.

The summit will feature keynote presentations and panel discussions by eminent scholars, seasoned technocrats, policy experts, and community leaders, who will critically examine:

The effectiveness of the Nigerian Local Content Policy in driving indigenous capacity

Compliance levels and challenges related to the Host Communities Development Fund (HCDF) under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021

Opportunities for local businesses and host communities in the post-PIA implementation era

Speaking ahead of the event, the organizers emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing and policy literacy, stressing that “knowledge is key to our collective aspiration to benefit from our oil and gas resources for the happiness of the greatest number of our smitten people.”

The Warri Oil and Gas Summit 2025 promises to be a landmark gathering for industry stakeholders, community representatives, policymakers, investors, and civil society actors committed to equity, transparency, and sustainable development in Nigeria’s oil-rich Niger Delta.
