We will continue to positively engage government, other stakeholders for a better State – KONGONET Chairperson

The newly elected Chairperson of Kogi NGO’s Network (KONGONET), Hamza Aliyu has promised to continue to engage the government and other critical Stakeholders towards ensuring a better Kogi state for all in terms of infrastructural development and welfare of citizens.

He assured members of the Civil Society of his commitment to upholding the highest standard of discipline and accountability, towards taking KONGONET higher than where his predecessor, Ambassador Idris Ozovehe Muraina, has taken it to, saying he cannot afford to lower the standard.

Comrade Aliyu who was speaking during a get together organized in honour of the immediate past Chairperson of KONGONET, Ambassador Idris Ozovehe Muraina, solicited the cooperation and collaboration of members of the civil society in the state to ensure a better and robust civil society engagements in all sectors of the economy.

Members of the civil society groups, in their various speeches eulogize Ambassador Muraina for his leadership qualities, particularly, his patience and transparency as former Chairperson of KONGONET, which they said has brought the organization to limelight.

They called on the incumbent Chairperson, Hamza Aliyu to continue to promote inclusivity and collaboration, which they said accounted for the success of his predecessor.

They expressed confidence that Mr. Aliyu will do even better, have being a team player and great support to the success of his predecessor, assuring him of their continued support.

In his emotional laden speech, the immediate past Chairperson, thanked members of the civil society in the state for their support, saying that the successes recorded would not have been possible without their support and cooperation.

He called on them to continue to accord his successesor the same and even greater support, assuring that the performance of Comrade Aliyu would be better than his, given his antecedents, saying he was the Pillar behind the success of his tenure as KONGONET Chairperson.

While calling on members to continue to offer useful advise that will advance the course of civil society in the state to the new leadership, he promised to continue to play his advisory roles to ensure the success of the new leadership for the benefits of all.
