We will Work with You, Kogi Innovation Commissioner To Rector, Nigerian-Korean Friendship Institute
The commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology in Kogi State, Dr. Adeniyi Aderibigbe Helen has promised government involvement in the operations of the Nigerian-Korean Friendship Institute in lokoja.
Aderibigbe said this when she visited the Institute on Thursday 29th May, 2024. The Commissioner received a very warmth welcome along with the ministry’s Director of Administration, Mrs Rose Ibrahim and Assistant Director Administration, Mr. Abdulkareem by the Institute’s Rector, Dr. Oluwatoyin Williams and other staff including the Deputy Rector, bursar and head of departments of the institution.
The Rector noted that the potential of the institution is under utilized, explained that the institution has enormous potential and capability to produce high definition accessories that can help the state in curbing security threats and profer solution to other social political issues.
He further highlighted some of the things they have done and still working on to make the institution one of the best technically and technologically competitive around the world. He therefore urged the commissioner for necessary collaboration.
Dr. Williams added that one of the graduates of the institution have produced drone, stated that the institution has enormous potentials to provide R&D system for the state for providing necessary capacity building and provide employment for the youths in the State and beyond.
In her remarks, Aderibigbe thanked the Rector and the entire staff for their unwavering commitment at growing the institution.
The commissioner therefore encouraged them not to be wearied in their pursuit to get government attention, promised that under the administration of Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, Executive Governor of Kogi State, the institution will be recognized.
She further advised various departments to harmonize their proposal and get it across to her through the Rector, so as for the ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology to take it up from there.
