Why I Visited HE, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the ADC National Secretary — MOY
Hon Musa Olumayowa Yakubu (MOY), a former house of representatives aspirant and very strong member of the African Democratic Congress in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has said that his recent visit to His Excellency, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former Governor of Osun State and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was driven by a sincere desire to learn, to connect, and to work with people who genuinely believe that Nigeria, Kogi and my local government area, Ijumu can be better than what it is today.
Let me be clear: this visit was not about politics as usual. It was about finding practical ways to improve the lives of ordinary people—the farmers in our villages, the traders in our markets, the youths looking for opportunities, and families doing their best to survive in these difficult times. I strongly believe that leaders must learn to listen more and speak less, especially to the people at the grassroots who feel the real impact of government decisions every day.
Rebuilding Nigeria, Kogi and Ijumu LGA will not happen inside offices alone. It will happen when leaders are ready to walk with the people, understand their daily struggles, and speak for them where important decisions are made. My discussion with Ogbeni Aregbesola centred on leadership that is simple, honest, and close to the people—leadership that puts service above personal interest.
I want to reassure the general public, most especially, the good people of my immediate constituency, Ijumu, that my political journey is about service, not self-interest. Joining hands with progressive leaders is about bringing ideas, experience, and opportunities back home—ideas that can lead to better representation, stronger communities, and development that people can truly see and feel.
My doors remain open to everyone, irrespective of political affiliation, age, or background. I believe strongly that our strength lies in our unity, and that progress comes faster when nobody is left behind.
I call on our people to remain hopeful and stay involved. With patience, unity, and collective effort, we can rebuild Nigeria from the grassroots up—one community at a time.
