In a powerful demonstration of grassroots unity and political mobilisation, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Movement (BAT Movement) and the New APC Ambassadors across the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State have formally declared their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kano State Governor, His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement reflects growing confidence in the leadership styles of both leaders and their shared commitment to grassroots development, inclusive governance, and democratic stability.
The decision was announced on Wednesday during a strategic meeting of state and local government coordinators of the two political associations in Kano State. According to the organisers, the endorsement followed extensive consultations with members at ward, polling unit, and local government levels, ensuring that the decision truly represented the will of the grassroots.
Speaking at the meeting, Shamsudeen Abubakar Nini, State Coordinator of the BAT Movement in Kano State, said members of both associations unanimously resolved to support President Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf based on visible performance and direct impact on communities.
He described Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu, leader of the two political associations, as “one of the true custodians of grassroots political mobilisation in Kano State.”
“Our leader’s strength lies in his closeness to the people,” Shamsudeen said. “We feel their pains, understand their aspirations, and work daily to translate government policies into real impact at the community level. Today, we speak with one united voice.”
Shamsudeen disclosed that the New APC Ambassadors across the 44 Local Governments have a registered membership of over 968,000, while the BAT Movement commands about 897,000 registered members in Kano State alone.
The members—men and women alike—are spread across all 44 local governments, wards, and polling units, making the two associations among the largest, most organised, and most influential grassroots political networks in Kano State.
This vast structure, he noted, enables the associations to function not only as mobilisation platforms but also as community listening posts, capable of providing real-time feedback on government policies and public sentiment.
Members of the associations praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership as bold and reform-driven, particularly in areas affecting local governments, economic recovery, and national stability. They highlighted key achievements such as:
Strengthening of local government autonomy,
Improved grassroots funding and accountability,
Expansion of social investment and empowerment programmes
Increased investment in infrastructure and national security.
The associations also commended Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf for ongoing development projects across Kano State, describing his administration as responsive, people-centred, and committed to rebuilding public trust in governance.
According to the group, the Renewed Hope Agenda is no longer a slogan but a visible reality in towns, villages, and wards, where citizens are beginning to feel the presence of government once again.
On security, the associations applauded the efforts of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in collaboration with the armed forces and security agencies. They cited improvements in intelligence gathering, technology-driven operations, manpower deployment, and welfare for security personnel.
Shamsudeen noted that decisive action against terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping has helped restore confidence, enabling farmers, traders, and small businesses to resume normal economic and social activities at the grassroots.
Beyond politics, the endorsement carried a deeper message to both President Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf: the BAT Movement and the New APC Ambassadors are essential partners in governance and democratic consolidation.
For this reason, members called for Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu to be brought closer to the corridors of governance, describing him as a disciplined, loyal, and effective mobiliser whose experience can further align grassroots expectations with government policies.
They urged Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to take keen interest in the associations and integrate their structures into participatory governance efforts across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Associations, Shamsudeen formally declared the associations’ “total, unwavering, and unconditional support” for the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in 2027.
He also issued a call to action for coordinators, ward leaders, grassroots organisers, and community stakeholders across Kano State.
“We must organise, mobilise, and enlighten our people. The voice of the grassroots must remain central to Kano State and Nigeria’s democratic process.”
As the 2027 elections approach, the endorsement sends a clear signal: sustainable leadership is built where performance meets grassroots partnership—and Kano State’s political base is ready to stand firmly behind leaders who listen, deliver, and engage.
